What is 1B-LSD?

1B-LSD (1-Butanoyl-d-lysergic acid diethylamide) is a novel psychedelic substance of the lysergamide class. It is related to 1P-LSD and LSD and has been reported to produce nearly identical effects. Little is known about 1B-LSD’s pharmacology, but based on observations of LSD’s main mechanisms, it most likely produces its psychedelic effects by acting on serotonin receptors in the brain.

The first synthesis date of 1B-LSD is unknown, and unlike most research chemicals, there is no record of it in the scientific literature prior to its discovery. The first reports of 1B-LSD surfaced in 2018 following its appearance on the internet research chemical market.

According to user reports, the subjective effects of 1B-LSD are very similar to those of 1P-LSD. It is also thought to act as a precursor to LSD. The chemical structure similarities between 1B-LSD and LSD predict a nearly identical effect profile, with the main differences likely being duration and absorption rate. Geometric visual hallucinations, time distortion, enhanced introspection, and ego loss are some of the effects. Its traditional psychedelic effects and tolerability have led to its popularity among new psychoactive substance users, who use it interchangeably with LSD.

There is little information available about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of 1B-LSD.
