What is 3-Me-PCP?
3-Me-PCP is a new dissociative of the arylcyclohexylamine class. It is thought to have been invented in China in 2020 by the same facility that creates chemicals for Long Flourish Research and buyresearchchemicalsonline.com. Due to its recent synthesis, very little is known about this new chemical. Initial reports reveal subjective effects similar to ketamine.
Because there is so little known about 3-Me-PCP, we shall focus on the chemical class to which it belongs – arylcyclohexylamines.
Chemical Properties
3-Me-PCP is an arylcyclohexylamine dissociant. An arylcyclohexylamine is made up of a cyclohexylamine unit and an aryl moiety. The aryl group is in the same location as the amine. The aryl moiety is commonly a phenyl ring, sometimes with extra substitution, in the simplest examples. The amine is frequently not primary; secondary amines such as methylamino or ethylamino, or tertiary cycloalkylamines such as piperidino and pyrrolidino, are the most regularly seen N-substituents.
Pharmacological effects
NMDA receptor antagonistic, dopamine reuptake inhibitory, and -opioid receptor agonistic characteristics are all present in arylcyclohexylamines. Some of these compounds have also been shown to exhibit receptor agonistic, nACh receptor antagonistic, and D2 receptor agonistic properties. Antagonism of the NMDA receptor results in anesthetic, anticonvulsant, neuroprotective, and dissociative effects; blockade of the dopamine transporter results in stimulant and euphoric effects, as well as psychosis; and activation of the -opioid receptor results in analgesic and euphoric effects. Stimulation of and D2 receptors may also play a role in hallucinogenic and psychotomimetic effects.
3-MeO-PCP, ketamine, and 2-FDCK are all examples of well-known arylcyclohexylamines.
