What is bk-2C-B HCL?
Bk-2C-B (also known as Bk-2C-B or beta-keto 2C-B) is a novel phenethylamine-class psychedelic substance. It is the structural equivalent of 2C-B.
Open and closed-eye visuals, time distortion, euphoria, and ego loss are some of the subjective effects. When compared to 2C-B, its effects are frequently described as being significantly more stimulating, less psychedelic, and lasting significantly longer.
Prior to its 2014 distribution as a research chemical by online vendors, Bk-2C-B was relatively uncommon and had little to no history of human usage.[1][2]
There is little information available about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of Bk-2C-B. As a result, users are advised to approach this novel and poorly understood hallucinogenic substance with caution and harm reduction practices if they decide to use it.
Chemical Properties
Bk-2C-B, also known as beta-keto 2C-B, is a substituted phenethylamine with a phenyl ring connected to an amino (NH2) group via an ethyl chain. The structure of 2C-B is substituted with a ketone group at the beta carbon of the structure (R1). k-2C-B contains methoxy functional groups CH3O- attached to carbons R2 and R5, as well as a bromine atom attached to carbon R4 of the phenyl ring. k-2C-B belongs to the 2C family of phenethylamines, which have methoxy groups on the 2 and 5 positions of the benzene ring.[9]
Pharmacological effects
Bk-2C-B is most likely a partial agonist of 5-HT2A. Its efficacy at the 5-HT2A receptors is thought to be responsible for the psychedelic effects. However, the role of these interactions and how they lead to the psychedelic experience remains a mystery.
