What is aMT Succinate?

aMT Succinate is a tryptamine-based compound. It’s also known as alpha-Methyltryptamine Succinate, Succinic acid compound with 3-(2-aminopropyl)indole, -Methyltryptamine Succinate, alphaMT Succinate, MT Succinate, Butanedioic acid compound with -methyl-1H-indole-3-ethanamine, and Butanedioic acid compound with -methyl-1H-in (1:1).

1-(1H-indol-3-yl)propane-2-amine, often known as aMT or -Methyltryptamine, is a synthetic indole alkaloid molecule of the tryptamine class. Tryptamines are an indolamine metabolite of tryptophan, an important amino acid. Certain aminergic neuromodulators share the structure of tryptamine.

aMT The alpha carbon of succinate tryptamine is substituted with a methyl group. It has a chemical relationship with tryptamine that is similar to amphetamine’s relationship with phenethylamine. The neurotransmitter serotonin is strongly related to aMT (5-hydroxytryptamine). aMT is discovered as a racemate of its (R-) and (S-) enantiomers in freebase form.

Upjohn originally produced aMT Succinate in the 1960s. The Nitroaldol Condensation of indole-3-carboxaldehyde and nitroethane under ammonium acetate catalysis, as well as the condensation of indole-3-acetone and hydroxylamine, followed by reduction of the resulting ketoxime with lithium aluminum hydride, can be used to make aMT. aMT works as a balanced reuptake inhibitor as well as a release agent for three different monoamines.
